KMD Designs (Knife Maker Dave) is owned and operated by David Bentley. It started as a hobby in the late 90s, driving over-the-road and building custom flintlock pistols in the truck cab. You may know his previous work under the DLB Flintlock label. As his craft and skills grew, he became known in the Gun & Knife Show and Rendezvous circuits as “Knife Maker Dave,” and the moniker stuck, leading to the retirement of the “DLB Flintlock” name and his permanent adoption of “Knife Maker Dave.”

David has thirty years of experience and hand-forges all of his own blades in his workshop in Waldron, Indiana. While he doesn’t have a favorite material to work with, he sees all materials as limitless and enjoys creating beautiful works of art that are enjoyed by outdoorspeople and collectors alike. Each knife is unique and one of a kind, with a signature and numbered blade. Making these knives not only a functional piece of art, but a collectible heirloom that will last for generations.
